Steady

We so far Ava hasn't gotten worse from the surgery and she really hasn't gotten better. Her swelling and peeing have gotten so much better. She is such and amazing fighter. I'm sure a lot of you have never been able to witness a child fighting to hang onto life. It is hard to see but in the same breath it is inspirational to watch. The great part is that Ava is much stronger even at 2 years than she was as a newborn. Her survival mechinisms are the exact same. I guess it does make sense.

I am much more optimistic today. I feel like when Ava's chest was reopened and the pressure was let out, my pressure also was lessened. Does that make sense? I have gotten so many emails from Moms of angel babies and she is surrounded by their love and care. I can feel the love all in this room. It is spectacular.

This is such a painful thing to go through. Life doesn't stand still. It continues on. If I can relay any message to all of you it would be to stop what you are doing right this very second and thank God for what he has given you. We take for granted our health. We take for granted our wonderful family and friends. We are so busy with our lives that we don't stop to give God the glory for making us special. I encourage you tonight to stop and pray. Thank Him for making you, YOU! We are His creation and how miraculous are we?

Your messages and prayers have gotten us through so much already. We have hope that she is going to take a step forward and creep towards healing.

Just beautiful how you put it. It makes perfect sense. I think everyone is guilty for taking life for granted.
I'm so glad to see Ava having a better day. I can feel your relief in your blog.
Keep it up Ava!! We want you home with your mommy and daddy real soon.
Thanks for your post. You made me stop and think as well. God does get overlooked way to much and that is really a shame. Thank goodness he has such a big heart!

I am so glad that Ava is having a better day. It just breaks my heart when a child is ill.
