Great Mood!

Ava was so happy to wake up and know that she was in her own bed. We all got a great night sleep. She has pulled off another "miracle". She is eating breakfast, lunch and supper....between 12- 20 bites each meal! I just can't come up with any other reason besides, God. Yet again He has blessed us.

Ava couldn't have planned this week end any better. See Brian was about to get off work on Thursday. This is when she became very sick. She looked so bad. She had a high fever and her heart rate was over 200. The highest it got was 226! So we picked up Brian on the way to the hospital. We were there until Sunday. He was able to avoid missing any work, except one night at the pizza place. It was as if she knew her Dad had no more vacation days so she got sick and better all within the perfect timing. It just makes me in awe of God's planning and Miss Ava's super ability to heal quickly. There is no explanation of her quick turn around!

Funny story.....I found her upstairs this morning in the TPN drawers. She had a tegaderm dressing unwrapped in her hands and was attempting to place it on her chest where her line used to be. I asked her if she wanted me to help her and she nodded yes. I took off the tegadem to reveal the stery strip. She is a little bruised but her chest looks great. She is not able to take a bath until the strip comes off, hopefully in the next few days. She was so used to doing line changes that she was reminding me that it was time. I was happy to remind her that her line no longer needed changed as it was NOT there any longer! :0)

Ava playing "Peek-a-boo!"

The girls were so excited to see her. Ava loves her sisters and hugged them tightly. It was great to hold all three girls. It seemed like we were gone for weeks not days.

Our home health care nurse, Lisa called this morning to check up on Ava. We will not be needing her service anymore since Ava no longer has a central line. Wow I can hardly believe it.

I also wanted to say thank you to Suzanne, our last nurse at University of Iowa. She helped get us discharged at record speed. The docs came in at 8:30 am and we were out of there at 9:30 am. We were so happy to get out of there so quick. (This never happens.) Anyway "Thanks you so much, Suzanne! You are a super nurse."

Ava and Daddy on Easter.

Here are some pics of Lexis and Emeline finding their Easter eggs on Sunday. Ava's egg search will happen when the weather is a little nicer. She was at home with Daddy. I was lucky once again be the photographer.

And here is all the cousins except Ava and Alex.

Thanks for all your prayers. We had the best Easter. It amazes me at Ava's strength and continued determination. God is so good to us.

It continues to amaze me how God cares for all the details of our lives. Thanks for sharing. We are waiting for a date for Ally's line to come out. I'm praying for God's perfect timing...your story encouraged me!
