Late but here’s Halloween

Hello friends and followers. It’s been super busy here at our house. I’m sorry for not updating sooner. Ava was sick with a cold around Halloween time so she missed school and her party which was sad for her but we still dressed up and had a fun time on our own. Here she is with her Dad.

She loves Minions so naturally she had to become one!

If you’ve been following us for awhile you would know I love dressing up for Halloween! I’m not sure what it is but I love being some one else for just a short time! Brian and I were chaperones at Emeline’s school dance. I dressed but Brian didn’t. The kids were angels around me… can you tell why? And you ask… who did my make-up? Sweet little me!

I also do Ava’s school yearbook so you KNOW I had to dress up there as well even though my Aya baya was at home resting with her Dad.

Ava went back to school this last week. It’s always hard on her when she’s been out a few days and this time it was an entire week. She’s such a trouper though.

Our family could use some prayers not only for Ava but for another daughter. I won’t go in details as I can’t right now but I do ask for prayers. Some times life can take some sharp turns. No matter what way you look you see discouragement from all different directions. I have such good girls and when one of them is hurt it cuts me deeply. This world has become evil and it breaks my heart. Please send some positive thoughts and many prayers our way. We love and thank you for it.

I’ll leave you with one last picture. The girls found these costumes and had to have them. I love the quote I added to the picture… I’m so proud of my girls for always showing “THEIR TRUE COLORS!” We’ve been seeing God’s love all around us! We are so happy he guides and protects our family.

I am sorry that Ava was sick on Halloween!! No fun. I was sick a few years ago, but somehow managed to hand out candy!! ;)

I like your costumes!! ;)
I am sending prayers your way regarding this daughter. Even though I do not know what is wrong. God does, and He is with you always. ;-D

First off, I like your new Header Pictures!! ;)
Second. I just visited your Raising Healthy CDH Children Facebook page, and saw this. "My Life isn't Perfect, but I am grateful.". Wow. That is so true to my existence, it's almost uncanny!! Like a certain fortune cookie message I read recently.... ;)
Well, good night. Wow. It is nearly midnight over here!! I should go to bed.... ;)

Me again. ;)
"This analogy popped into my head today. I thought of our children like stars in the sky and came up with this. Our kids are that "ONE". Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is a birth defect that occurs in about one in every 2,500 live births."
I read this on your Raising Healthy CDH Kids Facebook page. Four words. Loving it. Loving it!! I took my mutt outside in clear-sky, brisk weather tonight. I glanced up at the stars. This is something that I do often, as it rains a lot over here. You cannot possibly take stars for granted!! I smiled. Then, as I walked Rose back inside, I couldn't help but think this. "I wonder how many CDH 'stars' who did not make it--as 50% don't--an incredibly sombering statistic that I, as a survivor, hate to think about--are shining down on us?".
Sorry. I possess a crazy head which never shuts down!! ;)

I just posted a fictional children's story about this character who was born with CDH on my Blog, "Minuscule is good!". { http://writing--projects.blogspot.com/ } Check it out if you would like!! And maybe leave a comment so I know you visited? Raising CDH awareness with something I can do.... Writing!! I hope you enjoy it!! ;)

Thank-you for commenting on my Blog!!
"I think that Esther's doctor should be thrilled with her using her 'good' lung to sing. It means that her functioning lungs works as good as both of our healthy lungs work together.". Valid point!! I never thought about that!! I was simply attempting to give Esther a few "naysayers" amongst Ephrom believing in her gift/ability!! But you are absolutely correct!! Thanks!! ;)

PS. Writing this story, for reasons beyond my comprehension, felt daunting!! I tried so very hard to get facts and such correct.... And even re-read parts of Ava's story for inspiration!! But in the end. Esther's story was not "based" on anybody's CDH story!! ;)
